Handcrafted wooden photo frame. These are miniaturized versions of Ankhi Jhyhal (traditional newari eye window).
Ankhi Jhyal made up of two words, ‘Ankhi’ meaning eye and ‘Jhyal’ meaning window. These traditional windows has been present in the Nepalese architecture from the 15th century, during the Malla regime in Kathmandu Valley. The shapes and dimensions of the ‘Ankhi Jhyhal’ differs from circular to squared and rectangle frames.
